When using the TailMate application, the following categories of data may be collected.
The TailMate application includes a conversational assistant feature based on artificial intelligence (hereafter Co-AI / AI-Dog). This assistant lets users exchange with an automated system that provides general information and non-personalized suggestions to support open-ended conversations.
Users are informed that responses provided by the AI assistant are generated automatically by an algorithmic system.
Where possible, data used for service-improvement purposes is processed in aggregated or anonymised form.
Users can create an account via the following authentication methods:
Other authentication methods may be added in the future, such as phone number sign-in (SMS).
Personal data is collected and processed for the following purposes:
TailMate uses geolocation to surface geographically nearby profiles, calculate distance between users, and help organise meetups and walks.
Location may also be used when the application is active or, depending on device settings, when running in the background.
The application enables message exchange between users. These messages may contain text, emojis, and GIFs.
Users can block another user at any time via the application's settings.
The TailMate application allows users to share photos and videos of their dogs in order to create a profile and find other dogs. Photo sharing is essential to the proper functioning of the application.
When a user uploads photos of their dog to create a profile, they authorise TailMate to display these photos to other users within the application for the purposes of matching and discovering other dogs.
Photos uploaded to a dog's profile are visible to all TailMate users. Other users may view, like, comment on, or message the owner based on these photos. By uploading photos, the user consents to their dog's image being displayed in this matching context.
The user confirms that they are the owner or legal carer of the dog (or dogs) appearing in the photos and that they have the right to share their images on the platform.
If photos contain easily recognisable people (other dog owners, friends, etc.), the user confirms that they have obtained the consent of those people to share these photos on TailMate. The user is responsible for obtaining this consent before uploading.
Users can delete, replace, or hide their profile photos at any time via the application settings. Deleted photos will no longer be visible to other users within 24 hours.
TailMate may use anonymised or featured dog photos in marketing materials, app promotions, or on social networks, unless the user has chosen to opt out. Users can disable this option in their privacy settings.
TailMate reserves the right to remove photos that violate these terms, including inappropriate or abusive images, or images that infringe third-party rights.
Users may at any time request the deletion of a photo by contacting TailMate at infos.tailmate@gmail.com. TailMate will delete the photo within 7 business days.
To ensure the proper functioning of the application, TailMate uses third-party providers. These services may collect certain data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
